NextGen Asia Programme 2019: Reimagining the future with the next generation
The next generation are ready to be more engaged, take action and lead a more sustainable future. This was the key take away at a recent Wealth Management event in Hong Kong and Shenzhen.

Hosted by the Asia Key Client Group (KCG) team and in collaboration with the Asian Venture Philanthropy Network and the Family Business Network Asia, 45 delegates from eight countries attended the three-day NextGen Experience programme, marking the twelfth edition of the flagship event.
This year’s programme, held over June 19-21, 2019, ensured a full house from start to finish, thanks to a dynamic agenda featuring interactive sessions including games and workshops.
A rich variety of subjects captured the imagination of this group of 23 to 40 year olds, ranging from personal sharing of family business succession journeys to new investment trends, how to create a social enterprise and transform consciousness (Quantam Leadership) to lead effectively.
These sessions featured a strong line-up of speakers including Shahryar Reza of Planet N Group of Companies; Jerome Pfund of Sectoral Asset Management; Lyla Wu of Neuni Group; Winson Yeung of Singbee Group; Frederick Tsao and Felicia Heng of Family Business Network Asia; Francis Ngai and Lehui Liang of Social Ventures Hong Kong; Kevin Teo of Asian Venture Philanthropy Network; and Chicco and Lahra Tatriele of Fivelements Habitat.

Participants singled out a dialogue with Wah Kwong Maritime Hong Kong family business heiress, Sabrina Chao, as a highlight.
Ms Chao shared her thoughts on the challenges of taking the helm of her grandfather’s shipping business, Wah Kwong Maritime, and becoming a widely-respected leader in a male-dominated industry.
BNP Paribas’ newly appointed Global Sustainability Ambassador, Craig Leeson, injected a sense of excitement into the programme as he shared captivating footage of disappearing glaciers threatened by climate change and assertions by NASA’s top scientists that time is running out.
"We all need to wake up and...start taking this problem seriously. This is Code Red. There are no more chances. If we don't tackle this situation right now, we will not have a future."
Craig Leeson, Global Sustainability Ambassador, BNP Paribas
After two days of sharing knowledge and leadership tools - between fun networking lunches and dinners (featuring a DJ) - the team led the group to Shenzhen, otherwise known as the Silicon Valley of Asia, to meet with tech start-ups and see the Greater Bay Area (encompassing nine cities in Southern China, including Hong Kong) for themselves.
